ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE
As an artist, my imagery comes from visions I see in this world, as well as in dimensions outside normal reality. As humans, we have a natural ability to access non-ordinary reality easily and we are SO good at it, we do it every single night when we dream. With practice, we can also tap into non-ordinary reality when we are awake through trance techniques such as art making and meditation.
In the Winter Watercolor Retreat, we will explore the process of accessing non-ordinary reality using watercolor painting and Shamanic Journey Meditation. What we see and sense during meditation can have profound personal meaning and offer deep insights that we can manifest into our lives through art making. This is WAY more than an art class. It’s a spiritual journey that has the potential to change your life.
I will provide all the tools and information you will need to easily dive into this collective adventure. The focus is the process, not the product. It’s about letting go, connecting with your intuition, engaging in art making as a form of play and charting your own path to personal empowerment.
“Since my first Watercolor Workshop with Erin, I’ve developed a strong connection to the other realm that has not only influenced me, but also my family and entire circle of friends. Every day I am creating a life that is more grounded, present and accepting of unconditional love.” - Hillary, a returning student.

🌞 MORNING SESSION | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
🕊️ Arrival & Container Building
In this deep exploration of painting and connecting with the unseen realm, we begin by building a container that is grounded and supportive. We pull tarot cards and introduce ourselves, sharing a bit about what is present for us in the moment.
🎨 Watercolor Tutorial
From this foundation, we open our hearts and invite playfulness with a lesson in essential painting tools and skills. We learn that working with watercolor can be meditative, freeing and fun! With this medium as our collaborator, we surprise ourselves with our natural artistic gifts.
✨ First Meditation
Next, we step through the portal into the unseen realm through Shamanic Journey Meditation. You are invited to leave your chair and find a comfortable spot in the room. I provide an introduction and we set an intention before embarking on an 10-15 min meditation to a steady and soothing drum beat.
🔮 Watercolor Flow
Following the meditation, we launch into an immersive creative flow, using the painting skills we learned and the imagery we extracted from our first meditation to manifest our visions into being. You are invited to begin by writing, drawing or jumping right into painting. We also have the opportunity to share our meditative experiences with the group.
🥣 LUNCH BREAK | 12:30 – 1:30 PM

🌙 AFTERNOON SESSION | 1:30 – 4:30 PM
🧭 Charting the Next Journey
Following our lunch break, we will reflect on our experiences from the first meditation and watercolor flow. As a collective and as individuals, we will identify insight areas we would like to explore more deeply and chart our course for the second Journey Meditation.
✨ Second Meditation
With your intention set, we once again find a comfortable place in the room to dive back into non-ordinary reality for a second Journey Meditation. We will use our intentions as a compass to extract deep, personalized wisdom from a 20-25 minute meditation.
🔮 Final Watercolor Flow
As we emerge from our meditation, we will take time to reflect and record our experiences. We will discuss what insights we extracted from the journey realm and what direction we might explore in our final watercolor flow. As a collective, we will release ourselves into a second trance of art making. I will offer individualized support in helping you bring your visions and intentions through in watercolor.
🙏 Witnessing & Honoring
Following our final watercolor flow, we will take turns witnessing & honoring each other as we reflect on the experiences we had during the second meditation and watercolor flow. You will have the opportunity to share your artwork with the group.
⌛️ Closing & Completion
At the close of our time together, we will reflect as individuals and as a collective on the overall journey of the day. We will name the newfound insights we hope to carry with us as we venture back into the the world.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring a curious mind, a journal and a water bottle if you wish. For the meditation portion, you may also like to bring a blanket, pillow, yoga mat, cozy outer layer and/or eye mask. All painting materials, meditation instructions and lunch will be provided.
